Missile strike hits Russia’s Kremniy El microelectronics plant in Bryansk, killing two

A missile strike hit the Kremniy El microelectronics plant in Bryansk, which supplies Russia’s air-defense sector. Preliminary reports say two people were killed.

Bryansk came under a missile attack, with Mash reporting that one of the strikes hit a plant producing microchips for mobile devices during a shift change as employees were preparing to head home. Thick smoke rose over the city after the attack.

Two residents were killed. One was a man passing by the plant at the moment of the strike. Another 12 people were injured - all were hospitalized and are receiving medical care. About 20 vehicles were damaged.

One missile reportedly struck a major city interchange; a shopping mall and residential area sit near the plant. OSINT channels say the facility was hit by several successive strikes, as seen in videos posted online. The geolocation of the blasts matches the coordinates of the Kremniy El group’s plant, with the nearby Church in the Name of All Saints serving as a visual reference.

Kremniy El is Russia’s second-largest microelectronics manufacturer supplying the military, including components for the Pantsir air-defense system and the Iskander missile system. The plant has been targeted roughly six times since 2022. In January 2025, operations were suspended after a strike by six drones damaged production facilities, a finished-goods warehouse, and power infrastructure. Earlier, in October 2024, an attack sparked a fire at the plant and disrupted production chains. The facility is located about 110 km (roughly 68 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
