Russia’s war on Ukraine. 14.03.25
On the Kursk direction, Russian forces conducted clearing operations in Sudzha and its outskirts, but their advance toward the border in Kursk Oblast has slowed. The enemy is fighting for Podol, Goncharovka, Zaoleshenka, Rubanshchina, and Milovo, attempting to advance toward Oleshnia. In Sumy Oblast, the enemy advanced northwest of Basivka and is attempting to cut off Ukrainian logistics along the international border near Novenke.
Units of the “Siversk” Operational-Tactical Group (OTG) withdrew from some positions to more advantageous ones, holding positions in Oleshnia, Gogolevka, Guevo, and Gornal, while counterattacking near Zhuravka, Basivka, and Novenke.
On the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces attacked near Vovchansk.
On the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces advanced in the Fiholivka–Novomlynsk area toward Krasne Pershe, in the direction of Topoli and Kamyanka, and continued attacks in the area of Doroshivka, near Topoli, Krasne Pershe along the Oskil River, Petropavlivka, and Stepova Novoselivka. The enemy attempted to advance west of Kolisnykivka, southwest of Kruhlyakivka toward Bohuslavka, and attacked near Bohuslavka and Hrekivka.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked near Nadiia.
On the Lyman direction, Russian forces advanced on the southern outskirts of Novolyubivka and continued their offensive toward Nove, Zelena Dolyna, Novomykhailivka, near Yampolivka, Myrne, and Kolodyazi.
On the Siversk direction, Russian forces advanced toward the T0513 highway (Siversk–Bakhmut) northwest of Sakko i Vantsetti, reached the eastern outskirts of Vasyukivka, attempted to advance south of Hryhorivka, and conducted offensive actions in the areas of Bilohorivka, Verkhnyokamianske, and Ivano-Dariivka.
On the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces conducted offensive actions near Chasiv Yar and Ozaryanivka. Difficult terrain and the activity of FPV drones from Ukrainian Defense Forces are complicating the enemy’s advance near Stupochky.
On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces advanced along Mykhailo Hrushevskyi Street in Toretsk, conducted offensive actions near Toretsk, Druzhba, and Leonidivka.
Ukrainian Defense Forces counterattacked in the northwestern part of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, where they advanced and captured enemy positions.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced to the southern outskirts of Shevchenkove, capturing most of the village, and made slight advances on the southern outskirts of Udachne.
Russian forces advanced west of Nadiivka toward Kotlyarivka, south and southeast of Sribne, and conducted assaults near Vodyane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novotroitske, Dachenske, Shevchenkove, Zelene, Pishchane, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, Sribne, Novooleksandrivka, Novoserhiyivka, Kotlyarivka, Zvirove, Novoukrainka, Yasenove, and Nadiivka. They attempt to regain lost positions in Udachne, Pishchane, Shevchenkove, and Zelene.
On the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces attempted to advance west of Rozlyv and attacked near Konstyantynopil, Andriivka, and Oleksiivka.
On the Huliaypole direction, Russian forces advanced east of Dniproenerhiya and north and west of Burlatske, attacking near Pryvilne, Novosilka, Novopil, and Novodarivka.
Counterattacks by Ukrainian Defense Forces forced Russian forces to withdraw east of Novosilka and from the area between Burlatske and Pryvilne.
On the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces continue to fight for Pyatykhatky, advancing north of the village, southeast, south, and southwest of Mali Shcherbaky. They attacked near Pyatykhatky, Stepove, Shcherbaky, Kamianske, and in the direction of Novoandriivka.
General conclusion:
- On the Toretsk direction, Russian forces have significantly increased the number of artillery strikes and assaults, expanding the size of assault groups from 2-5 to 10 infantrymen.
- On the Pokrovsk direction, enemy activity has decreased compared to early March 2025. The occupiers continue their offensive with small infantry groups and use fewer light armored vehicles.

- On the Orikhiv direction, the enemy conducted 12 offensive actions near Stepove, Pyatykhatky, Shcherbaky, Kamianske, and in the directions of Novoandriivka and Mala Tokmachka.
- In the operational zone of Kursk Oblast, the “Siversk” OTG repelled 22 attacks by Russian occupiers. The enemy conducted 37 airstrikes.
- In the Black Sea-Azov naval operational area, the enemy naval group on combat duty consists of:
- Mediterranean Sea: 4 ships, including 3 cruise missile carriers; the total salvo is 26 cruise missiles.
Supporting operation:
- Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out drone strikes on an oil refinery in Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai, damaging the refining unit and a pipeline.
- Flights were suspended at Vnukovo, Kaluga, and Sochi airports.
- Targets in Moscow Oblast were also hit.
Changes in the enemy disposition:
- The 1st Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army operates in the area of Bohuslavka and the southern outskirts of Zahryzove. The 752nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Combined Arms Army is engaged in combat near Nadiia.
- The 33rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 20th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Combined Arms Army operates near Tarasivka. The 228th Motorized Rifle Regiment and the 400th Artillery Regiment of the 90th Tank Division of the 41st Combined Arms Army, as well as the 589th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 27th Motorized Rifle Division of the 2nd Combined Arms Army, operate on the Pokrovsk direction.
- The 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 51st Combined Arms Army is concentrated near Kurakhove.
- A Chechen unit of the “Vostok-Akhmat” battalion is operating near Novodanylivka.
Possible operation situation developments:
- The plan for the enemy’s spring-summer offensive campaign in the Southwestern Theater of Operations may be as follows: a simultaneous breakthrough towards Kostyantynivka and Druzhkivka from the south and southeast (from the direction of Toretsk and Vozdvyzhenka), as well as from the northeast (from the direction of Chasiv Yar), followed by an advance towards Kramatorsk from the south while simultaneously advancing towards Slovyansk with the forces of the 20th and 25th Combined Arms Armies of the “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping through Lyman.
- If enemy forces of the “Sever (North)” Operational Grouping secure and expand their bridgehead in the Dvorichna area, they will be positioned to push further into Kharkiv Oblast, broadening the so-called “sanitary zone.” This could be achieved through simultaneous advances toward Velykyi Burluk from the bridgehead and from Vovchansk. Another likely course of action is an offensive against the Kupyansk defense sector of “Khortytsia” OSG, coordinated with the 1st Tank Army of the enemy’s “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping.
- On the Lyman direction, in the near future, the command of the 25th Combined Arms Army of the enemy’s “Zapad (West)” Operational Grouping will attempt to accomplish its immediate task by deploying the 169th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade into the operation and attacking the positions of “Khortytsia” OSG along the Kreminna–Zarichne road toward Torske.
- On the Kramatorsk direction, the encirclement of Chasiv Yar from the south by advancing toward Stupochky will be a priority for the command of the 3rd Combined Arms Army and the 98th Airborne Division of the enemy. To achieve this, the enemy may redeploy additional forces from the 85th or 88th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades of the 3rd Combined Arms Army to this direction from the southern sector.
- The operational plan of the 8th Combined Arms Army on the Kostyantynivka direction is to envelop the tactical group of the “Khortytsia” OSG, which is defending south of Kostyantynivka between Oleksandropil and Tarasivka from the flanks. The enemy aims to encircle and destroy this group or, if unable to do so, force it to withdraw from the area south of Kostyantynivka in a northwestern direction under the threat of encirclement. The ultimate goal of these actions is a two-pronged breakthrough from the southwest and southeast toward the area of Stepanivka – Berestok – Pleshchiivka – Yablunivka, followed by a simultaneous assault on Kostyantynivka from this area and from the direction of Chasiv Yar. After the reaching the Poltavka–Pleshchiivka line, the enemy’s 3rd Combined Arms Army, reinforced by an airborne forces group, will attempt a rapid breakthrough from the bridgehead on the Siverskyi Donets–Donbas canal in the Chasiv Yar area, advancing from the northeast toward Kostyantynivka.
- The situation on the Novopavlivka direction may change drastically if the enemy breaks through to the southwest, in the Velykomykhailivka direction, within the operational zone of the enemy’s “Vostok (East)” Operational Grouping. Currently, its forces are attempting to advance toward the Donetsk–Zaporizhzhia highway from the south and cut it off in the Komar–Odradne section. This would significantly facilitate the advance of Russian forces on the Novopavlivka direction within the sector of the 90th Tank Division and the 110th, 114th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigades of the 51st Combined Arms Army. To achieve this, the enemy is trying to advance along both the western and eastern banks of the Mokri Yaly River with the forces of the 5th and 36th Combined Arms Armies, as well as the 40th and 336th Separate Marines Brigades, generally moving in the direction of Velyka Novosilka–Komar.
- In the near future, the enemy command may shift the main attack direction of the 90th Tank Division toward the Andriivka area (part of the 428th Motorized Rifle Regiment, as well as the 67th and 87th Rifle Regiments). The reinforcement of division units with elements of the 239th or 6th Tank Regiments cannot be ruled out.
